These two staggered living cubes stand on a dream area with a view of the Rhine. They rise imposingly over a small Swiss village. The first level is completely underground and serves as an underground car park. From here you can get to the respective cube through two separate entrances. The architect’s house, which is partly built into the slope, opens up to the river with large windows, while the rear is reserved. The protrusion of the upper storey forms the roof for the terrace. The outer facade with vertical wooden cladding in gray is kept simple.
The living space is 80 square meters on the ground floor. The open living, dining and cooking area extends over the entire level. The kitchen and living area merge into one another, but three levels create a spatial demarcation. The fireplace between the living room and dining room also serves as a room divider.
The owners’ retreat is located on the upper floor, also with around 80 square meters including a balcony. Bedrooms with adjoining dressing rooms and an en suite bathroom are in the front area. In the free-standing bathtub you can enjoy the wonderful view. In the back there is an office and guest room with a shower room.
Despite all the joy of what we have achieved, our focus is primarily on the future. It is still our aim to build every house as if it were our own. Ecological and environmentally conscious construction methods determine our company philosophy. Because we want to create sustainable living space – in terms of people and nature.
