We all know how important the bedroom is for our soul and our health! It is the part of the house where we spend a lot of time, relax with a good book, get a good night’s sleep or spend time with our partner. Often enough, however, we are a little disappointed because our bedroom is too small. You get the feeling that there isn’t enough space for all the things we want to surround ourselves with. Honestly? Nobody needs to be afraid for that. Because even the smallest bedrooms have enough potential that they can become a safe haven for us. We at Homify have put together a collection for you with 15 small bedrooms that show true greatness with the help of clever solutions. Let’s take a look at it together.
We think this bedroom is the perfect starting point for our topic today. Because this small space shows us wonderfully that less can be more. In the bedroom we really only find the most basic things like the bed, a lamp and a television. This minimalist design makes this room a quiet place to let go and relax.
Chaos and clutter are deadly, especially for small bedrooms! That’s why we should invest a few minutes every day to tidy up our bedroom. If we don’t have a closet to store our clothes and accessories in, then maybe a wall curtain will do the same. Advantage: small and large things can be stowed here!
Natural light brings great effects, especially in small rooms. That is why we should try to give daylight as much as possible a chance to supply the bedroom with brightness. So away with thick curtains or heavy blinds. Then it is better to use light systems or blinds that darken the room at night.
If we are unsure about planning small rooms, we should rely on the help of experts. Because with clever furniture, wonderfully multifunctional rooms can be set up. Because it is not so rare that we have to integrate a small work area in the bedroom, for example.
Light color worlds are good for small rooms. Because they seem to make the room bigger. This also applies to bedrooms, which can be wonderfully designed with light textiles. But it should not fail because of a point where a color point is used. In any case, the pillows in our example attract everyone’s attention. And the red can also be found discreetly in the art print above the bed.
No space for a large wardrobe in the bedroom? No problem! Let’s just add a couple of drawers under the bed. Because let’s be honest: The space under our bed is usually not used optimally anyway.
Folding furniture like this bed is a great idea to create space in the room during the day. This way we really benefit from the available square meters! The system on this folding bed is particularly clever. Because when folded, the wall also acts as a room divider.
We recognize that a large closet is a real investment, especially when it is tailored to take advantage of maximum space. But after that we have hanging space, drawers and shelves where we can get all our things organized. It couldn’t be better!
Distraction is also a good tactic for small bedrooms. We could just paint one of the main walls a bold color and decorate it with a print, stickers or photos. Such a wall complements the other neutral walls perfectly and detracts from the size of the room. Our tip: always paint only one side of the room. Otherwise the color scheme has the negative effect and only makes the room darker and smaller.
Raw bricks on the wall can create the same effect that we described in the last picture. Because a cool and industrial style can be conjured up from it, which gives the room a very special atmosphere.
We come back to the subject of light in small rooms. Daylight is good for every room. But even on the longest summer evenings it gets dark at some point. Then we should invest in beautiful bedside lamps, candles or lanterns to immerse the bedroom in a cozy atmosphere in the evening.
We know that too: Our towels are flying around everywhere and don’t seem to have a real home anywhere. A small ladder can help. Simply put the towels over them to dry. Positive effect: the air in our houses is very dry, especially during the heating season. The damp towels subtly give a little moisture back into the room, which is good for our mucous membranes during sleep.
In the event that we don’t have our own ideas, our furniture simply has to do the thinking for us. Here, carpenters have designed a tiny room using the vertical space. The cupboard, stairs and bed form an inseparable unit.
